Chinese religions. This new year-3 course in Religious and Political Ideologies of Modern China, taught by Gregory Scott (Chinese Studies), will be available to our students from next year. It examines the religious and political history of China in the modern era from the early nineteenth century to the present day, exploring the role of major systems of thought, doctrine, and practice in the making of contemporary China. Amongst the traditions it will cover are Confucianism, Buddhism, Daoism, and folk religions. Further information.
