Call in relation to the ReSBri (Religion & Society in 19th-century Britain) network: "I'm constituting a network (Religion & Society in 19-c Britain, or ReSBri) whose aim is to apply for a Marie Curie Action (MSCA) "post-doctoral network" by 15 Nov 2023. The broad subject of our application will be the interrelated links and influences between Religion, Literature and Society in 19C Britain. We're currently thinking about what subjects, questions, incidents, persons etc, our application's scientific project could/should cover. Members can contribute in two ways: 1. Research Seminar Paper
Biblical Studies. CBS Hon. Research Fellow Siobhán Jolley presented at the King's College London theology seminar on 29th November. The paper was “Killing Adam’s Eve: Thinking Theologically with BBC America’s Killing Eve” and Siobhán discussed how reading biblical themes in a secular TV show can act as a provocation for wider theological discussion.

Bernard Jackson Prize 2022
Postgraduate Jewish Studies prize. This
prize of £100 is awarded annually to the student with 'the highest
grade for a master's dissertation in Jewish Studies' at the University
of Manchester. It honours the Centre's second co-director Bernard Jackson. For 2022 it was awarded to Kerry McCall (MA in History) for a thesis on 'Negotiating Antisemitism and
Philosemitism in Victorian Britain: Case studies in wider literature

Limmund Festival 2022
Jewish Studies. The University of Manchester is well represented at Limmud Festival 2022, the volunteer-run Jewish learning event running from 23 – 28 December. Katja Stuerzenhofecker will participate in the panel discussion ‘The UK Jewish community in the age of Covid: What changed and what didn't?.' Lindsey Taylor-Guthartz will lead several sessions including a presentation of her recent research as CJS Postdoctoral Research Fellow. Also presenting are CJS and R&T alumni/ae Ariel Abel and Sarah McCulloch, and SALC colleague Noelle Dückmann Gallagher.
