Online library. The University of Manchester Library holds over 400 Hebrew manuscripts dating from the 14th century to the early 20th century. The Hebrew manuscripts are among those featured in the new Manchester Digital Collections. The work on cataloguing the collection began under Philip Alexander and Alex Samely in 1989, a project which Stefania Silvestri and Renate Smithuis enhanced and took forward with the digitization of many of the manuscripts. The project continues under Philip Alexander's direction. Further information.
